Creating a Course

Navigate to Fulfillment -> Course Reserves -> Courses

+ Add Course, located below the Save Query button

Course Information
1.    Course Code
2.    Course Name
3.    Processing Department = St Lawrence College Course Reserves
4.    Start Date = Start of term
5.    End Date = End of term
Instructors
1.    + Add Instructor and search for each name

a.    Make sure they are an Employee, some of them may have a separate student file

Campus
Leave blank, there’s nothing to add anyway.

Creating a Reading List

After clicking on Save
1.    Click on the three dots next to your new course and select Reading List
2.    + Reading List

a.    Code
b.    Name
c.    Status = leave as Being Prepared
d.    Due Back Date = same as Course End Date from the course creation screen

After clicking on Add and Close
1.    You can start working on it from this screen by clicking on the three dots and selecting Work On
2.    You can also navigate to Fulfillment -> Course Reserves -> Reading Lists to see all of them and assign lists to others.

a.    Same as above, click on the three dots and then Work On

Adding to a Reading List

After clicking on Work On
1.    Don’t use this screen
2.    Instead, search for your books in ALMA’s search bar

a.    Make sure you find the correct book

i.    Title
ii.    Edition
iii.    Author

3.    You can add it to a Reading List two ways

a.    Click on the three dots and select Add To Reading List (old and new UI)
b.    Click on the item, the items details will appear, then click on the Add To Reading List button (new UI)

After clicking on Add To Reading List
Choose the list the book is meant for and click on Select.
You’ll get a green notification that says, “citation added successfully”.
Back on your Reading List
Fulfillment -> Course Reserves -> Reading Lists
1.    Click on the three dots and select Work On
2.    Each book’s citation status should already be marked as Complete since we’re adding them directly from ALMA
3.    Change the Status at the top of the screen to Complete

Making lists visible in PRIMO

1.    Make sure your list is marked as Complete
2.    Navigate to Configuration -> Discovery -> Display Configuration -> Configure Views
3.    Click on the three dots beside the LIVE VIEW and select Edit
4.    Under Search Profile Slots, turn Course Reserves on with the toggle

a.    Course Reserve will be visible only on the results screen after searching. You can hit the Everything drop-down and choose Course Reserves.
b.    It’s also visible in the Advanced Search Screen.

5.    Under Advanced Search Configuration, enable it for basic search and toggle on Course Name, Course Code, and Course Instructor
6.    Under Brief Results, enable Course Code + Name, and Course Instructor
7.    Under Full Record Services, click on the three dots under 4 Details and select Configure

a.    + Add Field and choose crsinfo – Course Information
b.    Leave its position at the bottom
