FAQs

  • Students, staff, faculty, and community members may borrow from the circulating collection, tri-campus. A hold can be placed using your online library account, or in person at the circulation desk. Specify from which campus you wish to pick up the item. Tri-campus loans take approximately 3-4 business days. Return the item or request renewals at any one of our three campus locations.

  • Generally there is no charge for this service. If charges arise library staff will contact you prior to placing your request. Lost or damaged items are the responsibility of the borrower.
  • An entire issue of a journal.
  • E-Resources (eBooks)
  • On Reserve/Reference material
  • Some Audio Visual materials, subject to lending library policies.
  • Delivery time depends on geographical proximity and the loaning policies of the lending library. We cannot guarantee that the requested item will arrive before a specific date.
  • You may choose to be notified by email or by telephone.
  • You will also be notified if the request cannot be filled or canceled.
  • You may pick up the item at the circulation desk of the library. You will also return books to this same desk.
  • The lending library will specify the loan duration - usually it is a couple of weeks. Renewals requests will be forwarded on your behalf and granted by the lending library. You must return the item to us by the date stated on the book. 
  • You are financially responsible for any damage or loss of any materials. Replacement costs will be determined by the lending library depending on their policies.

Reciprocal Borrowing - Ontario College Libraries

SLC Library has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with all Ontario community college libraries. Privileges apply to current SLC students, staff and faculty. To borrow items directly, visit the circulation desk of the college library and present your SLC ID Card (You may need to show additional ID to verify your personal information).

Queen's University

St. Lawrence College students may visit any Queen's library and recieve a card upon presentation of a current SLC student card.
