Kingston Campus Library

In response to student feedback, all of Kingston Campus Library is a Quiet Space. We ask students working in groups to book a Group Study Room or use the adjacent Davies Hall. Davies Hall is a large study hall maintained by the Student Association. Our Quiet Study Room behind the Academic Support Centre is available to all students. This space follows the Silent Study guidelines. Noise complaints can be directed to library staff at the Service Desk or by texting the number provided on each study desk, or by using our chat service.

Quiet Study Rooms

Each campus library has a separate, enclosed Quiet Study Room available for all students to drop-in. This space follows the Silent Study guidelines.

Study Desks (Carrels)

Study desks at all three campus libraries are for quiet, individual study. These desks follow the Quiet Study guidelines.

Group Study Rooms 

Group Study Rooms are intended for use by groups of St. Lawrence College students. Each room has a table, chairs, and interactive SMART Board. Group Study Rooms are a great place to meet to discuss a group project, hold a study session, or practice a class presentation. SMART Board kits and pens can be borrowed from the Library Service Desk with valid Student ID.

Where are Group Study Rooms located?

  • Kingston Campus: Group Study Rooms are located in the Library, Davies Hall, and Lower Concourse (by the gymnasium and St. Larry's Pub).
  • Brockville Campus: Three Group Study Rooms are located in the Library (first floor near Student Services).
  • Cornwall Campus: Four Group Study Rooms are located in the Library (second floor of Aultsville)

How do I book a Group Study Room?

Current SLC students need to register for an account on the Online Booking System: https://sl.mywconline.com/. A confirmation email will be sent upon booking. If you are unable to keep your booking, please cancel it or contact the library (libraries@sl.on.ca)

What are the Group Study Room policies?

  • Personal items should not be left unattended in study/board rooms as staff are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • Group Study Rooms are for use by current SLC students only. 
  • Food is allowed. Students are expected to dispose of all garbage and leave rooms clean for others.
  • If you no longer require your booking, please cancel so that other students have access.
  • Booking limits are in place to ensure equitable access for all students.  
  • Repeated misuse and/or failure to follow the direction of college staff may result in suspension of booking privileges and/or referral to the Student Code of Conduct.
