Guthrie HouseGuthrie House Project provides service coordination and system navigation for vulnerable people from rural communities in North Leeds. Funds aim to improve access to services and strengthen communities. Children, families and adults are supported to connect with “the right service” required for improved quality of life.
Guthrie House provides affordable space for services to locate in North Leeds at Guthrie House, a Victorian Home in the village of Elgin. Some services (KEYS employment, Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville, Ontario Works, Developmental Services of Leeds and Grenville and Rideau Lakes Chiropractic are full time tenants. Many services are offered as needed including income tax and debt counselling support, access to hearing and memory clinics and food security initiatives. In addition, Guthrie House provides a free community space for local groups to meet. The Service Coordinator “ties all of the parts together” enabling accessible and coordinated services for vulnerable clients living in North Leeds.
