Standalone BScN Degree Transition - Fall 2023

NOTICE: Access to Laurentian University (LU) Library online collections is restricted to current registered and authorized Laurentian BScN students only (i.e. Year 4 in Fall 2023). This access restriction is based on publisher licensing models.

BScN students in the standalone degree program from St. Lawrence College DO NOT have access to Laurentian University (LU) Library's online collections. While access to LU will continue for the remaining years of the SLC/LU partnership (2023-2024), each year of the SLC program will need to transition to SLC-licensed resources only.

Faculty teaching Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 courses in Fall 2023 should plan to transition to SLC library resources as soon as possible.

  1. Review Learning Plans including all required and supplemental reading lists.
  2. To comply with Fair Dealing guidelines and the Copyright Act, faculty should follow the best practice of providing both a full citation and a permanent link ("permalink") for students to access online content from BlackBoard.
  3. All licensed and copyright-protected content in use for a Fall 2023 Y1/2/3 course must be licensed and available from SLC Libraries.
  4. Monitor resources that are not available from SLC Libraries and report to the library and Dean.
  5. Content available from SLC Libraries will be developed on an ongoing basis for the 5-year accreditation period.

The library team is here to help! Send resource and reading lists to the Library Team at  Libraries@sl.on.ca We will cross-reference all materials in use with SLC Library collections on your behalf.
